On July 21, 2026, GCLC held its annual Member Meeting over Zoom. We elected two new Directors, Tyler Portner of Cleveland, Ohio and Sara E. Saltmarsh of Austin, Texas and announced our new committee structure. Communications, Chair – Melanie Atha (newsletter, website, social media and blogging). Members: Jeffrey Batts, Tyler Portner, Anne Shuttee, Kristen Boldt
CHARGE: to use social media, our website, and all available tools to promote the mission of GCLC
DELIVERABLE: before our GCLC fall Board meeting, create a plan to integrate social media and our new website with regular content elevating the use of civil collaboration to resolve conflicts
Training and Education, Chair – Marilyn Genoa (annual conferences, basic civil collaborative training, speakers’ bureau, certification of international civil training events) Members: Ana Luiza Etchalus, Anita Dorczak, Sara Saltmarsh, Kristen Blankley
CHARGE: to create tools, content, and events to educate professionals and potential clients about the process of civil collaborative conflict resolution
DELIVERABLE: before our GCLC fall Board meeting, identify the ways GCLC can create specific educational opportunities for civil collaboration, and to create a proposed timeline for making these and publishing opportunities.
Membership and Strategic Alliances Chair – Paul Faxon (increasing our connection to other collaborative groups and allied professionals, developing new member recruitment initiatives) Members: Marc Sheridan, Glenn Meier and Bob Merlin
CHARGE: to identify and conduct outreach to (1) potential GCLC new members, including allied professionals; (2) family focused collaborative law groups; and (3) synergistic professional associations/organizations. To explore “joint venture” opportunities.
DELIVERABLE: before our GCLC fall Board meeting: identify new member recruitment strategy; refine the list of priority targets for association/organization joint ventures and outline approaches; oversee successful collaboration with IACP at Vancouver conference and evaluate.
